Born in Italy during the 2nd world war, Ben grew up in a family with 6 siblings and during a time where Italy was experiencing severe hardships. Seeking a better future, a 21-year-old Ben Fusco travelled to Australia, experiencing an immense language and cultural barrier upon arrival. He threw himself into the Australian culture, learning English and finding work. He met his wife Janet, and in 1968, on the day his second child was born, he started his own plumbing company; Fusco Plumbing Services.
Ben worked very hard to grow his company, whilst caring for his young family, now consisting of 4 children. He continued to gain experience and qualifications, becoming a master plumber and obtaining his building license as well as other qualifications and licenses. Upon obtaining his building license, he began undertaking building works and property development, leading to the founding of Fusco Homes in 1989.
In 2001, Ben entered into a partnership with his youngest son, John, which was the beginning of Fusco Constructions.
Still actively involved in the family business, Ben is not only a leader, but a mentor to many within Fusco Constructions, and especially his grandson, Devin, who is a third year apprentice plumber at Fusco Constructions. During the little spare time he allows himself, he enjoys spending time with his family as well as tending to his farm in Belair, and making wine, olive oil and tomato sauce.
